Shree Banikshetra
A Temple Born of
Devotion & Generosity
The spectacular Jagannath temple complex is erected over a sprawling one-acre land donated by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of KIIT and KISS. The temple was inaugurated in 2007 by the Gajapati Maharaja of Puri, Sri Divyasingha Deb — a momentous occasion that established Shree Banikshetra as a spiritual landmark for Bhubaneswar.
The sanctum sanctorum houses Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra, Devi Subhadra and Lord Sudarshana in the sacred quartet known as Chaturdha Murti — exactly mirroring the divine arrangement at the Jagannath Temple in Puri.
The large temple complex is the most prominent spiritual landmark in the KIIT–KISS campus, attracting thousands of devotees and visitors every single day. The intricately carved exterior is widely regarded as iconic — a testament to the skill of the artisans who brought this divine vision to life.
“One cannot miss noticing the intricately carved exterior — a vision of devotion carved in stone, standing as a testament to faith and artistry.”
