The spectacular Jagannath temple complex is erected over a sprawling one-acre land which is donated by Dr. Achyuta Samanta, founder of Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology (KIIT) & Kalinga Institute of Social Sciences (KISS). The temple was inaugurated in the year of 2007 by the Gajapati Maharaja of Puri Sri Divyasingha Deb. The sanctum sanctorum houses Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra (Balarama), Lord Subhadra and Lord Sudarshana in quartet (Chaturdha Murti).

One cannot miss noticing the intricately exterior carving which is considered iconic. The large temple complex is the most prominent landmark in Bhubaneswar and attracts thousands of visitors everyday. Devotees throng to participate in special functions that are conducted throughout the year.
